MobiBLU CUBISTO Description:
The MobiBLU CUBISTO is the world's smallest MP3 player. Unlike other MP3 players it comes in the shape of a small cube which could be easily attached to a keychain or an arm band. This cute, super compact MP3 player with flash memory comes in 512MB, 1 GB and 2 GB versions.
The MobiBLU CUBISTO is a DAP or Digital Audio Player from MobiBlu and is the latest in its cube series. This acts as a normal MP3 player in all ways. The sophisticated cube model gives enough space for all the controls to be placed on various faces of the cube and still keep the model very small.
Its dimensions are 26x26x26mm and come with flash memory. The whole device is scratchproof and weighs only about 18gm. Their corners are rounded and the whole device fully polished to avoid attracting finger prints.
The front face has the small perfectly square 0.66 inches OLED screen. Unlike its previous version which had a full color OLED this CUBITSO features a single color OLED. This is to bring down the cost further.
On the face which is directly to the back of the OLED screen we have the touch pad with the navigation controls. All the controls are very tactile and rubbery. Menu and hold buttons are placed on the faces on either sides of the OLED screen.
The upper portion adjacent to the OLED screen has a small audio jack for the headphone which is also used as a power jack while charging. The overall size of the CUBITSO is very small compared to other MP3 players in the market. It is very light and fits between our thumbs. It is extremely portable.
MobiBLU CUBISTO Performance
The performance of CUBITSO is mostly similar to its previous versions. But has good improvements as well. The highlight of this cube is its advanced audio technology. It comes with advanced SRS WOW HD and TruBass sound enhancements. This feature provides excellent audio without any distortions.
This 1 inch cube has some amazing technology loaded into it. There is a fully developed FM tuner with FM recording facility. It also has a fully advanced built in voice recorder and a small clock with alarm function. The small OLED screen displays battery status, names of the tracks played and show other adjustable settings.
Audio file formats like MP3, WMA and WMA DRM formats are supported and JPEG format is supported for images. Since the OLED screen size is quite small and supports only single color, video options and preferences are less.
Instead they have very advanced and clear audio using the SRS WOW HD technology. The customizable equalizer settings give numerous options for the user to adjust, mix and match audio as they like and the Bass enhancements support these activities very well.
All the three versions 512 GB, 1 GB and 2 GB have good battery life of 8 hours. Because of its size and single color OLED video support is minimized. Hence battery life is likely to stay long when audio is played for most of the time.
The 2 GB CUBITSO costs 20 dollars more than the 1 GB version and it has some special features accompanying it as well. They support advanced OGG audio file format. The audio jack functions as the USB jack when connected to system and as a power jack while charging in all versions.

The Good
MobiBLU CUBISTOs wonderful size, excellent cute finish and portability are its highlights. The audio quality is excellent. All advanced sound enhancements are incorporated in this cube. Excellent FM tuner and FM recording facilities are additional advantages. The multipurpose audio jack is another amazing feature.
The Bad
Due to its small size navigating in the OLED screen is hard. Hence the menu setup could be simplified. This will help the users to select the song directly. The audio conversion and transfer modes should be made quicker and simpler.
Areas that Could be Improved
The navigation keys are so smooth that they are a bit hard to use. If they were raised a bit it woudl make navigation a lot easier. The Colored OLED screen used in the earlier version shoudol have been retained. As the device is so delicate and small to handle an increase in its durability would have been a great improvement.
The Verdict
MobiBLU CUBISTO could be described as all advanced technology combined in 1 inch. This thumb size device does its best to provide very good quality sound. If you are not very much into video and like to hear best quality audio, MobiBLU CUBISTO is definitely the better choice.
